Amanda & Scott – Eastern Passage Engagement Photography

Amanda and Scott arrived in town this week in preparation of their impeding wedding on September 4th. As they live in Ontario this was the first opportunity we had to meet face to face so I was really excited to meet them after all the emailing we had been doing. They will be getting married at Oceanstone Inn & Cottages in Indian Point and we’re currently on Hurricane watch as Hurricane Earl makes his way up the eastern seaboard of the USA. We decided to meet for their engagement photos at a quaint seaside spot known as Fisherman’s Cove in Eastern Passage so their photos would have a truly Maritime feel to them and go along with the ocean-based them of their wedding. Despite being in the middle of a heat wave with extremely high temperatures we had a lot of fun and laughs while doing the shoot and makes me even more excited about photographing their wedding this weekend.

Chrissy & Greg – Halifax Engagement Photography

I met up with Chrissy and Greg on a beautiful summer afternoon at the Historic Properties in downtown Halifax to take some casual engagement photos. We had a great time walking around the waterfront and my face hurt from smiling and laughing so much with these two – Greg has a great sense of humor and it doesn’t take long to realize why Chrissy fell in love with him. When you’re around someone who is constantly cracking jokes or doing silly things, you can’t help but be happy! I’m really looking forward to photographing their wedding on September 25th here in Halifax.

Cousins Family – Halifax Family Portrait Photography

Finally Mother Nature cooperated with us! Pauline had contacted me back in February to discuss a spring family portrait session and when our intended date finally arrived we unfortunately were plagued with rain. We rescheduled for the following Sunday but again, Mother Nature brought us showers. Finally, we lucked out with the weather this past Sunday as the weather was ideal…not too hot, not too cold and just the right temperature and lighting for a great outdoor shoot along Halifax’s waterfront. The family of three (well, four if you include their cute dog, Jack) live in the area and so the Halifax waterfront is literally their backyard and their son, Will’s, playground. We had fun walking along the waterfront and Will was great at finding great spots to take some photos. As you can tell from the shots I was able to capture, he’s definitely photogenic and a great subject to photograph because even at the young age of just five, he’s a natural in front of the camera – posing and hamming it up

Leanne & Gabriel – Halifax Wedding Photography

Leanne and Gabriel were married on a beautiful spring day just as all the flowers were blooming but not even the gently falling rain could dampen their spirits as they exchanged vows before their family and friends at the Prince George Hotel in downtown Halifax. Those who love them most came from near and far…Mexico and Louisiana just to name a couple. Leanne looked stunning in her fitted dress and Gabriel equally handsome – what a beautiful couple. Two very special guests at the wedding were Gabriel’s two young sons, Gabriel Jr. and Fernando and there was no doubt in anyone’s mind that they are just as smitten with Leanne as their Dad. After exchanging vows we stepped out to the terrace for some photos and then everyone enjoyed an amazing meal which was followed by an evening of dancing to latin music. Oh…and in case you think you’re seeing double, you aren’t. Gabriel’s identical twin brother, Raphael was his best man. In fact, the only way I could tell them apart was that Gabriel (the groom) was wearing a white boutonniere and Raphael was wearing a purple one.

Jill contacted me about getting some family portraits taken – something their family had never done before so I was thrilled when she chose me! She and her husband have two energetic little boys and it was both challenging and fun to try to capture their personalities while we walked our way through Point Pleasant Park on a blustery spring day. The weather had been threatening rain all day long but at the last minute we decided to go for it and thankfully the rain held off until we were finished our shoot. As you can see, they definitely have great smiles

Two years ago I had the pleasure of photographing two beautiful and spirited little girls along with their parents, one autumn day. We had fun playing in the backyard and rolling around in the leaves. I was so excited when their Mom contacted me a few weeks ago to let me know that the little girls were now big sisters and that their family had welcomed a son to the mix. As you can see from the following captures, the girls are definitely smitten with their little brother!

I first met Leanne and Gabriel when they contacted me about being their wedding photographer. With their wedding less than a week away they asked me if I could take some casual photographs at their home as Gabriel’s parents had arrived from Mexico for their son’s wedding. I also had the pleasure of meeting Gabriel’s two sons (how cute are they going to be all dressed up in a tuxedo?) and I’m really excited to have been asked to be a part of their wedding day. I know it is going to be a wonderful celebration!

I have had the pleasure of photographing this gorgeous family twice and each time I’m contacted I get very excited as they are all so photogenic! The last time I photographed the family, however, they were a family of three and this time they have a new addition, a son. I went to high school with Jennifer. Although she now resides in Alberta, she enjoys sharing the beauty of her Nova Scotia home with her husband and children. With promises of days at the beach, lobster and lots of sunshine how could they resist making the trip?

Sarah and Ryan are one of those couples who as soon as you meet them you realize your job is going to be very easy. They’re a dream couple – I mean just look at the photos – it is impossible to take a bad photo of either of them and I’m wondering why they’re not modelling! Sarah and Ryan contacted me when they were planning their wedding and asked me to be their wedding photographer. As part of their wedding photography package they also received an engagement portrait session so they asked me to join them on the Halifax waterfront at the Historic Properties to capture some photos of them together before their big day.

Andrea and Richard are an absolutely lovely couple. In anticipation of their nuptials they asked me to join them at their favorite location – Lawrencetown Beach to capture the special bond between them with some engagement photographs. Andrea has an innate sense of genuine beauty and just by the way Richard looks at her you can tell these two will live happily ever after.
