    ABOUT TAMMI
People realized even at a very early age, that I had "an eye" for composing images and photography is a passion for me that continues to grow. Over the years my work has evolved and I feel I've developed a unique style. I love it when people say they have viewed an image of mine and knew immediately that I took it.

I believe in sharing the beautiful moments in life and welcome the opportunity to capture your memories for you so they can be preserved and relived again and again.

Please note I am based in the Halifax Regional Municipality but available for travel to other areas.

Heather & Alex | Halifax Engagement Photography

It was an absolutely stunning October day when I met up with Heather and Alex at the Halifax ferry terminal to do their engagement shoot. We jumped on the ferry and headed to Dartmouth to enjoy a stroll along the waterfront and use the Halifax Harbour as our backdrop. We then dropped by Two If By Sea Cafe (a fantastic spot for a warm beverage and one of their incredible croissants) which was fitting – Heather and Alex’s first date was over coffee at a coffee shop. I really enjoyed my shoot with them and look forward to shooting their wedding day with them next September!

LOVE these pics!!!

Krista & Paul | Halifax Engagement Photography

I don’t think I’ve ever had as much unique fun on a shoot as I had with Krista and Paul recently. Krista and I are both fans of Pinterest and I’ve been having fun looking at the types of photographic images she likes for wedding inspiration. They knew they wanted something different, fun and definitely unique. In the end, they came up with the idea of shooting their engagement photographs at a local grocery store in Halifax, Pete’s Frootique! (Special thanks to the management and staff for allowing us free range of the store!). After the shopping fun we ventured to Citadel Hill for some outdoor shots on that beautiful sunny day. Noone would ever believe it was the middle of October!

Katy & Ben – Halifax Engagement Photography

Katy and Ben now live in Ontario but they were home for the Thanksgiving weekend enjoying some family time and taking care of final details for their December 30th wedding. They wanted a Maritime feel to their engagement photos so we headed off to Herring Cove to do their shoot along the ocean and in the little fishing village there. The weather was beautiful and sunny for October and I’m really looking forward to their wedding day!

The Hanway Family – Halifax Family Portrait Photography

My how time flies! It seems like just yesterday that I photographed this little family when their son was just two weeks old. Fast forward almost nine months and look how much Joel has grown! We ventured to Shubie Park in Dartmouth to take some photos in hopes of adding a splash of color to the backdrops with the autumn foliage and we had lots of fun trying to make Joel smile which wasn’t hard at all – he’s a happy little guy!

OMG adorable!!! Great pics!!

Katelyn & Mike – Halifax Wedding Photography

If the amount of rain that fell on Katelyn and Mike’s wedding day was any indication of the luck they will have in the future, they will be extremely lucky! They didn’t let the rain put a damper on their spirits however and we had such a wonderful day celebrating their love for one another as they said their vows before their family and friends in Halifax. I must preface this post with a note, however. Due to the nature of Mike’s career, his identity is being protected at the request of the couple and I’m more than happy to oblige – so you’ll only see photos of Katelyn and her family. Make no mistake, Mike looked absolutely handsome in his uniform and they are one of the cutest couples I’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing – they’re high school sweethearts. I think you’ll agree, Katelyn was absolutely stunning! The reception was held at Katelyn’s parents’ beautiful home and I just adored their wedding cake – it was adorned with edible tea cups. Katelyn also requested that there be real tea cups for tea when the cake was served so Mike’s mother had gathered many cup and saucers from various yard sales, flea markets, etc so they were all unique. What a fun idea! Katelyn is also a soccer player so we had fun taking a few soccer themed shots. She’s the only bride I’ve ever had wearing black soccer socks and cleats on her wedding day:-)

Nicole & Jeff – Cape Breton Nova Scotia Wedding Photography

Nicole and Jeff’s wedding day was sunny and warm and the location they chose for their special day was perfect. You might remember them from their more urban themed engagement shoot in downtown Halifax but they were married on Nicole’s family’s cottage compound in Washabuck on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia right along the Bras d’Or Lakes. They were married near the lake shore and then had a wonderful outdoor reception under white tents in the middle of the compound. What a fantastic day!

John’s 65th Surprise Party – Halifax Event Photography

I love surprises! I was thrilled when John’s wife, Kim, contacted me to ask if I’d photograph the surprise birthday party she was throwing for John’s 65th birthday. Kim was stealth in her planning – all of their friends were in on the big secret. Food was prepared, decorations put up and John was oblivious as he spent the day in Lunenburg with his son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter. Meanwhile we were anxiously awaiting their return home to Hackett’s Cove so we could greet them as they pulled in the driveway and shout “SURPRISE!” When they finally arrived John was totally taken by surprise. He had no idea the celebration had been planned. So much fun!

John is a retired mathematics teacher and so friends had a wonderful cake created with mathematical symbols and we enjoyed home made pizzas which were cooked in their outdoor wood fired clay oven. There were many laughs, lots of great food and many memories made!

BILL &Laurene Copp - October 17, 2011 - 7:23 pm

Happy 65th John – looking good – great party – what a happy group of herring chockers
sorry we missed it. Have our oldest grand daughter attending Dalhousie this year – she loves Halifax. I am presently taking radiation treatments in Kitchener – lot easier than chemo which I have now been through twice – 4 months each time

Wishing you and Kim lots of happyness and good health.

Love,
Laurene & Bill

What a great surprise party! Lots of memories, everyone smiling and happy, just what a birthday should be! Thanks for sharing.

The Botha/Steyn Family – Halifax Family Portrait Photography

What a fun shoot I had with this gorgeous family at Sir Sanford Fleming Park on Halifax’s Northwest Arm in August. The evening light that time of year is absolutely beautiful. These photos speak for themselves as to what a fantastic family they are – Jani contacted me to take the photos of her and her husband and adorable little girls as well as her mom and dad. Have you ever seen a cuter set of twins?

Giffin Family Birthday Shoot – Nova Scotia Portrait Photography

I have had the absolute pleasure of knowing this family for about 23+ years as Linda and I went to high school and then university together for a period of time. The Giffin Family is one of those families everyone wants to be a member of. I’ve asked on many occassions to be “adopted”:-)They’re fun loving, compassionate, tight-knit and so much fun to be around. I was thrilled when Linda asked me to join them for their dad, Fred’s, 70th birthday celebrations to photograph the entire family. Most had travelled from Ottawa to the family cottage where they have spent their summers since childhood to join friends and other family in celebrating his milestone. The family has grown from Fred’s three daughters, Terri, Kathy and Linda, to include many grandchildren and of course spouses. What a fantastic day of celebration they had!

Rachel & Mathew – Halifax Wedding Photography

You might remember Rachel and Mathew from their engagement shoot we did on Martinique Beach earlier this summer. They were married on July 23, 2011 in Dartmouth at the Port Wallis United Church and even a little bit of rain couldn’t dampen their spirits. We did the formal photographs with family at Sullivan’s Pond then the three of us went to the Dartmouth Common for photos of just the two of them. They held their reception at the Chezzetcook Fire Hall and I had such fun shooting their wedding and spending the day with them and their families.
